Working on cross referencing pinouts from a LS1 F-body and my 2000 V6 F-body for...nefarious purposes that don't involve an actual V8 but using the LS1 pcm because it offers so much more tunability using the same software that tunes the V6.

Having to fill in some blanks and this is just the planning stage, but this will help me visualize what needs to be done.

Are you saying they don't use the same hardware? I'm really curious to know what you're up to here...

Same PCM housing, but the internals are different.

I'm going to have to do some wizardry with HPTuners to make the LS1 pcm work, but the biggest hurdle right now is repinning the harness and adding in other things like the coil on plug setup, cable throttle and other accessories.

For some reason I assumed even the internals were the same and they just changed software depending on configuration and application, added or removed wires as needed (for a v6 just remove the wiring for the injector and coil drivers, but the drivers would still be in the PCM). I've never looked into doing something like what you're doing, though. Definitely sounds like it could be fun to figure out though, good luck!

Thanks, yeah there's a guy running an AEM LS1 pcm on his V6 with good results. Problem is he got it super duper cheap because it had a damaged case and they normally run pretty high when new.

This will open up the tuning as HPTuners for the LSx engines allows for on the fly tuning and other options that will be nice.

Can't you just get a used one from a junk yard?

On the fly running would be awesome. That alone almost makes it a worthwhile mod.

I've got an LS1 pcm sitting on my shelf next to a turbo and a few other fun parts. The AEM is the aftermarket pcm that is pretty potent but around $1000 new.

Making more progress on the charts, some vague spots here and there but looking more cohesive.

Nice. Those pinouts are significantly different. I was expecting only a few pins here and there, not all of them. What a tedious headache of a job to repin all of those.

Yeah, what's nice is a lot of them will be blanks/empty cells since some of it is what's necessary to run the automatic.

I've already got a T-56 swapped in mine from a GTO, much more enjoyable driver.
